Fantastic Win for Oikos Wall Finishes at SBID Awards!
We are extremely pleased to announce that our partner Oikos Finishes won the Society of British and International Design (SBID) Award in the ‘Innovative Product Design’ category!
Last week, Oikos reconfirmed itself as a prime example of excellence. The only Italian company among the winners of the SBID International Design Awards 2016, their distinctive Molten Bronze finish was awarded the coveted prize from the SBID Award panel.
The judging committee claimed the finish, named Bronzo Fuso by Oikos, was a “demonstration of Italian craftsmanship and sustainable innovation” (this is Oikos Finishes summed up in one sentence!). The material itself is soft, scratch-proof, resistant to light and sustainable, perfect for its place within the renewed Milan Hilton lobby.
The Hilton project for the new Lobby, Bar and Lounge area was conceived with the idea to create Milanese style hospitality for the hotel’s guests; an interior that is elegant, refined, and modern while still maintaining classic and luxurious features. The materials and furnishings used were chosen as an extension and expression of deeply rooted Italian design heritage.
Vanessa Bradly, SBID chairperson, was extremely complimentary of Oikos’s design methods: “The specific ability Oikos has in interpreting what designers want is a unique characteristic and confirms that Oikos maintain an excellence truly difficult to imitate in its sector.”
